Back in the day Prince gave the impression that he was homosexual or bisexual and didn't care who knew so now I think the JW's have put a damper on his beliefs along with everything else. As I've not heard him really comment on this directly since his induction to the JW thing, I have no idea what his real views are. There were plenty of rumors swirling for a while.
All I can go by is his re-connection with Wendy and Lisa during Musicology and hope that indicates that whatever he may believe at this time, it is at least somewhat tolerant and respectful. I don't think any of us really know. I think almost all of us hope that he is ok with homosexuality but his JW beliefs could be a problem. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe in an immortal spirit or soul that survives death in order to be punished or tormented. However, there as another blurb in possessed that occurred much later and from what I remember after being exposed to JW beliefs supposedly from Bobby Z about a possible Revolution reunion. It irritates me a bit when people refuse to comment on their stance on gays. As far as his femininity in the 80's, in some ways that doesn't really count. Practically every musician was gender bending and dressing like a woman in the 80's.
It wasn't really reflective of the artists individual interests, but rather a general fashion trend. It's difficult to say if his JW beliefs have affected his views on gays. Kabbalah isn't crazy about queers from what I understand, and neither is Scientology.
